PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB


Every 3rd Tuesday at 7:00 pm
Open to photographers of all ages and levels!
Class meets at the Andy Griffith Playhouse, Siamese Twins Exhibit Classroom

The monthly programs are geared to photographers of all levels. Club meetings focus on topics ranging from technical aspects of cameras, photo processing programs, composition, lighting, and photographing people, to commenting on individual works that are shared at meetings. Email somersetva@aol.com to get on the email list and receive information about meeting topics and speakers.

Be sure to go see the Photography Club exhibit next to the Surry Arts Council office of the lower level of the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Prints are available for purchase.

SURRY COUNTY BASKET MAKERS


Second Tuesdays, 7:00 pm
Andy Griffith Playhouse Lower Level

Members of the Basket Makers craft beautiful handmade baskets every month. Each meeting has a different instructor and topic, so material fees vary.

YOUTH ART CLUB


The Surry Arts Council's newest visual arts program for Surry County's budding young artists is still accepting new members! The Surry Arts Council's club, for ages 12 and under, will meet once a month to explore a new theme and topic each month. They will meet once a month to explore a new theme and topic each month to keep the arts alive in our community.

Club leader Kayla Ellis has been an arts educator for over 15 years and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She currently teaches art in the Surry County school system. Ellis hopes that the Art Club will grow to include service projects for the Surry Arts Council and community efforts while providing opportunities for all young artists in the community to explore their inner artist.
