The Cindi and Andy Griffith Endowment is the Surry Arts Council's newest fund. The fund was set up at
the direction of Cindi and Andy Griffith by Martin Guitar Company with 10% of
the net sale price of each of the Limited Edition Andy Griffith Model Martin
guitars. The funds from this endowment will be used to support free Surry Arts
Council children's programs. This fund was set up on February 16, 2004.
The Barbara and Emmett Forrest Endowment was established in 2008 for maintenance of the Andy Griffith Collection.
The Kester Sink Birthday Endowment was set up by Kester's family in honor of his 80th birthday. The fund was set up in October, 2003. The proceeds from the fund will be used for scholarships for area children to attend Surry Arts Council summer programs and Children's Theatre.
The Diane Holcomb Endowment was set up in memory of Diane Holcomb by her husband, Lindsay Holcomb. This fund was set up to honor her love of musical theatre. The proceeds will be used to support the musical theatre productions of the Surry Arts Council.
The Richard T. Howerton Endowment was set up by his wife and children to support the Surry Arts Council's ongoing holiday vocal program. Dick Howerton instigated the formation of the first Surry Arts Council Chorale in which he also sang. This is a fitting tribute.
